Indifferent to sunlight
In darkness I smiled,
Unmoved in the crowd
Alone I cried.
Walked on glaciers
Where snow gave way under feet,
Where road was endless,
And no retreat.
They painted it black,
The mood, the sky
I kept wishing to see green,
But never gave it a try.
Or is it that I did
That oh! I tried my bit,
Had you stayed to see,
Peels of laughter - fit.
For this I punish
My poor soul to death,
That, things could have been better
Had I tried till my last breath.
